Summary
The second World War was fought in Europe from 1939 till 1945 and also during much of the 1930s and 1940s in Asia. It began with the invasion of Poland by the Nazi Party on September 1st, 1939. Japan, the last Axis nation, finally surrendered on September 2nd, 1945. While the war was still going on in Asia with Japanese interventions in China, in Europe, the war ended earlier with the unconditional surrender of Germany on May 8, 1945. The war spanned over the whole world and involved more countries than any other war ever. It introduced many new weapons and was apart of the first use of nuclear weapons. Not all countries of the world were involved, some remained neutral and were apart neither of the Allies or Axis powers. In total, World War II cause over 50 million deaths.
